Racing & Freestyle

Analog FPV video for racing gates, freestyle lines and the pilot’s view from the aircraft.

Application imagery is illustrative.

Racing & freestyle. The customer’s case.

An FPV club running indoor and outdoor races and freestyle displays needed responsive video, coordinated channels and a compact installation.

  1. Responsive video for the pilot

The customer’s main concern is the delay between an aircraft’s movement and the view in the goggles, especially during gate passes, turns and rolls. The case proposes an analog camera-to-goggles video system.

  2. Compact equipment on the airframe

The proposed transmitter is the Shrimp B 5.8G 2.5W. The club’s requirements include low weight, a small installation footprint and durability for racing and freestyle use.

  3. Multiple pilots on the course

The case uses frequency selection and coordinated channel assignments to reduce conflicts between pilots. The featured model provides 64 channels and IRC Tramp control; flight-controller channel selection covers channels 1–40.

From the course to the goggles.

The onboard camera supplies the video, while the VTX and ground receiver carry it to the pilot’s display.

Application questions.

Key details about the video link.

Which transmitter is featured?

The Shrimp B 5.8G 2.5W analog transmitter supports NTSC/PAL video and IRC Tramp control. Product dimensions and installation details are available on its product page.

Can the flight controller select all 64 channels?

IRC Tramp control covers channels 1–40 on this model. The other channel groups use the transmitter’s manual controls.

Does analog video guarantee zero latency or interference-free racing?

No. The case emphasizes responsive video and coordinated channels, but it does not provide measured latency or interference tests. End-to-end delay and reception depend on the complete system and conditions.
